Got a little planting done today
I started 2 raised beds today.
one bed: 2 jalapeno plants, 2 tomatoes, planted collards and turnip greens
2nd bed: leaf (iceberg lettuce) romaine lettuce, carrots
planted 3 mums
purchased 1 bag of humus/manure, 1 bag miracle gro potting mix
spent $45.00 at Walmart
I have 6 beds already in place. I do plan on putting in some onions if I can find some this week, but otherwise I think I will just do the 2 beds for the fall season, see how I do and get a feel for how it goes. For spring planting will try to utilize all 6 beds.
I may do one of the beds with some pansies/daisies just for some color
Dennis picked up the trailer today, hauled the tractor to be serviced.
He moved the turtle trap to the island in the pond, hoping it will be a better location, since there were 20 of them out there this morning. May be a little harder to move off the island in order to get them transported.

turtles and more turtles
none in the trap yet...There were 14 on the bank across from it on the little island this morning. Hoping we don't have to set it on the island, it will be harder to transport when full across the water. Have someone coming out this evening to look over a place to build the shop. Purchasing a trailer tomorrow, that we will pick up tomorrow.

A nice Labor Day Weekend
These last few days have reminded me of what I missed most being in Texas, a chance to be around family. Saturday we spent time with Dennis's sister, Kathy and her husband Randy and their friends at their lake house. Nice company and great food.
Sunday, Craig and Chase came over. we fished and spent some time visiting.
Today, Dennis and I went to Sulphur Springs to get items to make a turtle trap. We met Audry, George Walter and Meredith for lunch.
At first I was not to anxious to trap turtles, but a neighbor told us the turtles pulled baby ducks under by their feet, so that made up my mind. We are going to try and trap them and transport them to a lake and let them loose there. I am going to try and put pictures.

back home in Texas
We still have one load to go in Las Vegas, good to get this one taken care of. After being gone 2 weeks, the yard looks pretty bad. It is going to be nice to get settled in so we can start taking care of the place, like we should. I have a lot of dead leaves. I have been putting some in the composter, need to do a little more studying on that. I am sure you have to divide up what you put in there, just can't keep puttling one or 2 things.
